It's My Birthday...

...and I'll spin if I want to. So I was finally able to attend a PDX Spinnerati meeting at the library in downtown Portland. I got quite a bit done on the Salazar BFL from Tempted Yarns. I just have to figure out how I want to ply it and then knit something with it. After the meeting was over, it was off to Knit Purl for the yearly sale. I had gotten a yellow gumdrop and was able to get 20% off on my purchases. So I picked up some more Lamb's Pride Bulky to make another pair of Bella's Mittens and some Abstract Fiber roving in the "Crater Lake" colorway. I am also fortunate in that I know the dyer and see her on a weekly basis. The ShiBui needle case was free with the purchases. Yeah!!! I have started putting some of my straight needles in there.

And last but not least, here is a picture of the birthday cake. Yummy....it's Hello Kitty!!!! The picture with Hello Kitty came off and can be used again for something else.

Just keep spinning

So, I have been practicing on my Ashford Joy. So far, I seem to be doing alright for a beginner. There are some places where its a tad thinner. But I figure I just need to keep working at it. I am having a ton of fun though. And this month I will be going to the Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival. This year I will be looking at the roving as well as the yarn.
